Maintenance
Pine doors
To increase their life span, pine doors should be treated
before fitting and maintained once to three times a year, or as necessary,
using colourless glazing paint. Never apply a finishing coat to a pine door.
There is a great risk of cracks forming when the door is exposed to the sun,
wind and rain without any maintenance. Choosing a primed door from
LeksandsDörren is a good start. Factory-glazed doors should also be
maintained as above. Clean the door surface with warm water and let it dry
properly before applying glazing paint.
Teak doors
When they leave the factory, teak doors are treated once
with teak oil, but before fitting they should be treated once more to
saturate the teak. To keep the finish and durability you should treat the
door with teak oil at least twice a year, or as necessary. Requirements
vary, depending on how exposed the door's positioning is to sun, rain and
bad weather. If the surface gets matt and dry it should be retreated. Clean
the surface with warm water and let it dry properly. Then apply the teak oil
using a brush or sponge.
Primed doors
A primed door comes from LeksandsDörren ready-treate'd and
does not normally require any special care. However, the door should be kept
clean to maintain the finish and durability. It should be cleaned using warm
water, perhaps with a little washing-up liquid added.
Sill
Should be oiled once a year.
Striking plate
To be adjusted upon fitting and as necessary.

Weatherstripping
